Burma Nationalism and Ideology

an analysis of society culture and politics

University Press Ltd., Dhaka, 1989

Authors note February 10, 2008

I have been working to update my book, Burma Nationalism and Ideology (1989). However, my enthusiasm dwindles as I do not see any significant changes in Burma (Myanmar) in terms of cultural, social, economical, and political infrastructures that can initiate a meaningful progress towards a modern democratic society. A number of 88 and post-88 generation people in exile has been asking me to give them a copy of my book. For the sake of those students and youths in exile I have posted images of my book so that they may get a chance to read it. It is presented as a slide show. Internet Explorer 7 and Window XP will facilitate the view.

I did not publish the book. It was published by University Press Ltd, Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is available from a number of book sellers as per found by Google search. A number of authors have cited references from my book. I am glad to find that my humble writing has been helpful in various aspects of Burma's concerns. Some of these citations are given here.

I thank everyone who have read and shown interest in my book.
